find area then divide by 6
area=pir^2

d=2r
d/2=r
d=12
12/2=6=r

area=pi6^2
area=36pi
divide by 6 to find sixths
36pi/6=6pi

area=6pi in^2
if aprox pi=3.14 then
area=18.84 in^2
