ANSWER

The equation is
[tex]2y - x = 7[/tex]

EXPLANATION

The equation of the line that passes through the point (-1,3) and (1,4) can be found using the formula,

[tex]y-y_1=m(x-x_1)[/tex]

where

[tex]m = \frac{4 - 3}{1 - - 1} [/tex]

[tex]m = \frac{1}{2} [/tex]
is the slope and

[tex](x_1,y_1) [/tex]
is a point on the line.

The equation of the line becomes,

[tex]y - 4 = \frac{1}{2} (x - 1)[/tex]

Multiply through by 2 to get,.

[tex]2y - 8 = x - 1[/tex]

Or

[tex]2y - x = 7[/tex]
