im not sure too but see my  work
[tex] \sqrt{ 2^{x} } 2^{4x+2} 2^{15} = 2^{4} \\ [/tex]

it is so simple now:
[tex] \sqrt{ 2^{5x+17} } = 2^{4} [/tex]
x is -13/5
oh god x is negative:D
