First off, we must remember PEMDAS or "Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication and Division, and Addition and Subtraction"
So we start with parentheses first. But for the problem (4 * (-3) + 6) , there is two answers depending on which way you solve it! So what do you do? Remember in math, it is always left to right. so- (4 * (-3) + 6) = (-12 + 6) = -6. Now the equation looks like this: -5 + [2 - (-6)] / 2
2 - (-6) = 8
Now the equation looks like this: -5 + (8) / 2 Going left to right we can finally solve. -5 + 8 = 3
