do what is best for the country itself.

I think the President's beliefs should not have any influence in national policy. Although the President is likely to have his own opinions on what the country should be like and act like, I believe these should not play a role when deciding what is best for the country. Instead, the President should try to be as objective as possible and act according to what is best for the country overall.
