How can population changes affect demand for certain goods answers?

Since demand is solely based of the need of a product or service (demand) and the population is rising, demand is expected to go up if that item is in need. If the population goes down, and the need for the item is dropping because of that, then demand for the good will also drop. Population size and quantity of item needed is directly related to demand.
