The given expression is 16x-16=4.

We first need to isolate the x term.

With x term we have 16 subtracted.Opposite of subtraction is addition.Adding 16 both sides .

16x-16+16=4+16

16x =20

With x term we have 16 multiplied,Opposite of multiplication is division so we divide both sides by 16.

x= [tex]\frac{20}{16}.[/tex]

Reducing it to lowest form:

x=[tex]\frac{5}{4}.[/tex]
